Ontario Public Library Week

A visit will get you thinking

Libraries have always been a place where people and ideas meet; where discovery, experimenting, and learning happens in planned and unexpected ways. It makes the library a magical place!  October is Canadian Library Month and dring this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians' lives. In Ontario, we celebrate our public libraries during Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW), from October 14 to 20, 2018.

Food For Fines

Clear your overdue fines and help your community with the return of the Library’s annual Food for Fines program. Food for Fines runs during Ontario Public Library week, October 14 - 20. Drop off your non-perishable food donations at SPL and have your late fees cleared. All donations will go to Stratford's Salvation Army Food Bank.

Community Art at SPL

Community art belongs @SPL! Join us during Ontario Public Library Week (Oct 14-20) and visit our first ever library-wide art exhibit: a showcase of the creative habits of our staff members. From photographs to collage, pastels to fibre arts, our staff practices a variety of creative work.

The artwork will be on display around the library from Oct 14 to Nov 30. Ask staff for more information about our new community art program, providing opportunities for Stratford artists and creatives to show their works, launching in 2019. For more information, visit Community Art website.
