About PLOW

Public Library on Wheels (PLOW) is a literacy initiative of the Stratford Public Library that addresses the low literacy level in children throughout Stratford and area.  Specifically, it delivers preschool & toddler reading programs, age appropriate lending collections, and knowledgeable support staff to local communities currently underserviced by traditional library facilities.

Parents & Tots Program

@ Avon Mennonite Church
Avon Mennonite Church, Stratford (90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford). Alternate Wednesday 10-11:30am.  
September 14, 28 October 12, 26  November 9 & 23  

Free drop in program held in a large gymnasium that facilitates many opportunities for playing, talking and learning together.  PLOW will be there giving families a chance to join in the fun of playing, singing, reading and learning together. Library materials are available to take home to enjoy!

Poole ESL Class

@ Poole Mennonite Church
Thursday mornings, 9:30-12:30am
September 22 - October 27
PLOW will be going to the Poole ESL class to provide an infant story time, toddler story time and preschool story time and literacy activities. This program is open to the students and families registered in the English as a Second Language class at the Poole Mennonite church.

Wheels On The Bus

@ Brodhagen Community Centre, Brodhagen
Every Thursday morning, 10-11:30am
October 20 - November 17
Talk! Read! Write! Sing! Play! Story time and a chance to borrow great books & DVDs. This is a FREE drop-in program for children (aged birth-6 years) and their parents/caregivers.

Partners: Space provided by the Brodhagen Community Centre, toys provided by Perth Care for Kids, story time and literacy materials provided by Public Library On Wheels.

Millbank Amish Playgroup

@ Heritage Mennonite Church
Tuesday mornings 10:00-11:30 am
October 11, 18, 25 and November  1, 8 and 15
An engaging story time, play time and book lending opportunity  for Amish families in the  Millbank area,  in partnership with Stratford Resource Consultants and the Perth District Health Unit.
