The summer is simply flying by … but there’s still time to take a trip, and the following online resources can help with the planning of last-minute excursions.  The first few web sites would be helpful in planning trips anywhere in Canada ; the others are Ontario travel sites.  Bon voyage!

This is quite a comprehensive web site, offering information and links on Canada-wide road trips, tours, camping and other accommodations, visitor guides, maps, recreation, events / shows / festivals, Communities In Bloom locations, weather and more.

Find out everything that’s happening in Canada ’s major cities: events, attractions, restaurants, museums, galleries, accommodations, and more!

Canada’s Complete Bed & Breakfast Web Server - www.bbcanada.com
Bed & breakfast accommodations throughout Canada are listed here, classified by province/territory and then by city.  Locations, contact information and pictures are provided with each listing.

Ontario Travel - www.ontariotravel.net/
The Ontario government’s visitors’ information web site offers lots of travel information useful to residents wishing to see more of their own province: festivals and other events, fishing, golf, other recreational sites, camping and other accommodations, travel guides, garden destinations, and “urban experiences” are just some of the categories covered!

This very comprehensive web site offers information as diverse as Ontario’s provincial parks, waterfalls, whitewater rafting and other recreational locations, vineyards, road trips, tours, weather, Trans Canada Trail locations in the province, pet-friendly vacation rentals, casinos, cottages, and even haunted sites!

Ontario ’s inns, hotels, resorts, cottages, cabins, ranch vacations, farmstays, bed & breakfast locations and more are listed here.  Users can also access “romantic getaways”, “water front” locations and “pet friendly” locations.

Ontario Parks - www.ontarioparks.com/
Look here for the locations of Ontario ’s parks, park events, campsite vacancies, reservations, fees, etc. as well as a special section on conservation and research, plus a “Kids” section.

Theatre Canada.com - www.theatrecanada.com
Stratford’s theatres are only a few of the more than 450 facilities offering live theatre  listed from across Canada .  Listings include productions, reviews, box office information, nearby shopping and dining … plus links to kids’ theatres, theatre camps and theatre schools.

Ontario Daytripper - www.ontario-daytripper.com/
The online edition of Ontario ’s Daytripper magazine lists the “highways and biways of Ontario and the treasures you’ll find along the way”.  Included are antique and other shops, inns, bed & breakfasts, tea rooms, restaurants, events, artist tours, etc.
