Cards are free and easy to get. Use your card to:

• borrow books, magazines, DVDs, CDs
• read newspaper and magazine articles online
• access library databases from home
• use the public Internet computer stations
• download audiobooks and eBooks

Did you lose a book?
If you lost a book when you were in Kindergarten or found one that has been sitting in the back of your closet for years and years don't worry. We understand that occassionly these problems happen. Talk to the Patron Services Librarian. We will try to find a way for you to borrow materials from the Stratford Public Library again (payment plans can be an option). We want you to use your library card.

Do you owe fines?
Even if you can't pay your fines you are still entitled to use your library card to access the library databases featured on this web site. Of course, you are always welcome to come and visit your library with or without a card. You can read the books in the library, do your homework there, attend special programs and more. You don't have to have a library card to use the library but it does let you do more.

Library Catalogue
The SPL online catalogue is available 24-7 from home.  Look up items, place holds, and renew your items - any time of the day!  Includes items from Stratford Public Library, Perth East Public Library, St. Marys Public Library, West Perth Public Library, Stratford-Perth Archives, Safe Space, and the Stratford Chefs School.

Download audio books and ebooks anywhere, anytime, to any computer*. You can even transfer the books to your MP3 player, iPod or ebook reader and take the books with you - wherever you go. If you have a tablet or iPad it works there wtih the free Overdrive Media Console Mobile app. All you need is a current SPL card.

Web Databases
Working on a paper late at night, and need some more references?  Looking for a back issue to one of Canada's many newspapers?  Interested in researching a current news issue or historical topic?  SPL has subscribed to some great resources, just for you!  All you need is your library card number.

MasterFile Premiere
Provides full text articles for over 2,000 periodicals covering a wide range of subjects including general reference, business, health, and much more.  You will be prompted for your library card number so be sure you have it handy.
