The front steps of the library are under construction and during this time the front driveway, front doors, and the book drop are unavailable. The St. Andrew Street and parking lot doors are open for library access. Materials can be returned in the library or to the temporary book drop at the Legion (207 St Patrick St.)

Loan Period Rules

The Stratford Public Library provides a variety of material, from books to DVDs, for your use and enjoyment. Each of these materials has their own rule on how many you are allowed to borrow at one time, the period of time for which they can be borrowed, and the fee that accrues if they are returned past their due date:

Checking the Status of Your Items Out

You can check the status of your items at anytime using the online catalogue.
  1. Log into your account using your library card or username and your PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number)
  2. Click on My SPL then Checked Out.  
  3. You will then see the due dates of your items.
  4. If something is coming due, click in the checkbox beside it and click on the the Renew button. 

You can also call the library at 519-271-0220 during our open hours and ask a library staff member to check your due dates and renew the items. 

Email Reminders

Our Courtesy Reminder service notifies users by email that their items are due back in three days. Please contact the library at 519-271-0220 to take advantage of this useful service. A reminder that this is a courtesy service - returning your items on time is your responsibility. 

Paying for Late Charges

You can pay for your late fees at the lower floor and at the main floor of the library. You can pay by cash, check or debit/credit card (main floor only).
