Planned Giving
How will you be remembered in the community?
“Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Herman planned their donation to the library years before they died. Both of them used the library a lot. He often went two or three times a week looking up different parts of the world, and eventually he travelled to some of them. She was interested in antiques, cooking and sewing and found all kinds of useful information at the library. They were big supporters – and big users.”
Margaret Kelly, niece of the late Herman and Evelyn Appel who left the Stratford Library Foundation over $16,000.
Planned giving to the Stratford Public Library Foundation, through your will, insurance policy or investments, helps ensure the tradition of exceptional library service is safeguarded for future generations.
The Stratford Public Library has a distinguished history in the community that dates back more than 100 years. Leaving the library a legacy helps us maintain and build on that success.

“Supporting the Stratford Public Library is a tradition in our family that goes back four generations. We’ve always believed the library is an essential part of this community and a most worthwhile place for us to invest.”
Tom Orr, whose grandfather helped establish the Stratford Public Library. (The Orr Family Endowment Fund was also the lead gift in the Library Foundation’s establishment of an endowment fund back in 2003.)
