Library Cards
Any resident of Stratford, St. Marys, Perth East, West Perth or Perth South may obtain a Stratford Public Library Card free of charge. Your library card can be used at the 4 locations of the Perth County Information Network. Your library card is required to use some on-line information resources and to access our public Internet stations. You will be asked for your card number when using these services.
There is reciprocal borrowing with other libraries as well. This means you can take your Stratford library card to one of the participating libraries and get a free library card there. Members of the reciprocal libraries can also do the same at Stratford. These libraries include Huron County Library System, Oxford County Library System and the Region of Waterloo Library System.
Check Your Library Account
You can renew your items, place requests, and manage your library account online. You will be prompted for a PIN - this is normally set as the last 4 digits of your phone number.
Library Fines and Loan Periods
Your library card will enable you to borrow materials from the 200,000 books, DVDs, Music CDs and other formats owned by the Perth County Information Network. However, you do need to get these back on time.
InterLibrary Loans
Through our Interlibrary Loan service, we can obtain books and microfilms and other library material not owned by the PCIN libraries from libraries in Ontario and beyond.
All library materials requested on interlibrary loan are subject to the availability and interlibrary loan policies of the lending libraries. Borrowers need a valid SPL library card to make an interlibrary loan request. The service is FREE. There is a charge of $2.00 for interlibrary loan items not picked up. For more details ask at the library.
